We Bought Another...

Cabin oh cabin! NOTE* all the following pictures are “before” and we are working to get the “afters”. Join us in the journey!

We are beyond thrilled to begin the official journey of owning two airbnb cabins! We purchase the this new cabin in May 2021 and we recently launched it on Airbnb and VRBO. Our cabin properties connect at the corner and hopefully this will make my job easier that they are so close together. The new cabin shall have the name of “Bear Creek Lodge” hence the ever flowing creek running through the middle of the property. We love the idea of collecting and tastefully incorporating wildlife and the colors of nature, a theme you will see woven in all our cabin aesthetic. I don’t believe we have much planned for renovating, only decorating for now. But, I get so spurred on already dreaming and designing this one a little differently with a fresh perspective in mind. Im leaning towards “On Golden Pond” fishing cabin mixed with Ralph Lauren plaid…can you picture it? Below are some inspiration pictures from @amberinteriors.

This cabin is all PINE and it’s so yellow! I have to find a way to tone down and mute the yellow. Maybe by adding touch of raw wood pieces and texture. I plan to bring in masculine plaids and neutrals also. I hope you follow along our journey to furnish and transform our new AirBnb! As Moosehead is named for the giant moose head over the fireplace, the new cabin has still yet to see any sighting of bear, probably a good thing. Bear Creek lodge is slightly smaller in size than Moosehead lodge but it with a whole different style all together. Bear Creek resembles a typical “cabin in the woods” style compared to the more modern A-Frame of Moosehead.

The overstuffed living space

We already ditched the the chairs from this space and added a fun lamp. Now, deciding which, if either, sofa to keep and what chairs to add next. I also plan to shift the layout making it more center lined instead of catty corner.

The empty bedroom

We have a rustic raw wood bed frame we purchased at a flea market years ago in Calico Rock, AR. At one time we had plans to buy a cabin on the White River and this was our first purchase. We never found the cabin but still had the bedroom suite. It’s been in storage ever since so we are thrilled to finally bring it back life! The store in Calico Rock was going out of business so we purchased a whole set with other pieces including night stands mirrors for under $500.

The cramped loft.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this space. We plan to make it camping vibe with Pendleton and buffalo check patterns. Two twin beds each on either side of window.

Bear Creek has 2 bedrooms, both with 1 queen bed each and a loft with 2 twin beds is the future plan. Sleeps 6 people total. Open floor plan concept of living and dining room. 1 bath bathroom and a screened in back porch over looking the natural landscape with wildflowers and creek. Bear Creek resides on 8 acres.

Would anyone be interested in how we purchase investment properties like this one? If so leave a message and i’ll get another blog post going.
